Medicine River Trading Company proudly features salt-glazed stoneware from Maple City Pottery.  "Made from earth and water...fashioned by hand and fire."

Maple City's stoneware is fashioned and decorated by hand, then kiln fired and salt-glazed.  When rock salt is added to the kiln during firing, the results are often a slight variation in the slate grey color and orange peel appearance to the durable exterior finish.

Hand crafted pottery from Maple City is lead free, dishwasher safe, and may safely be used for cooking except where sudden heating or cooling is involved. They also "wear well" under the rigors of rendezvous', reenactments and small children, while maintaining their traditional beauty.

Medicine River  Trading Company also features several hand made soaps including WoodSpirits Ltd. and Montana Sweetgrass.

They use only natural (agriculture or mineral) ingredients in every facet of their formulas: the soap base, the color, as well as the scent. The coconut and olive oils that compose the soap base are fresh, 100% food grade. This, we feel, preserves the vitamin and mineral content of the oils. Their soaps are not milled, because milling removes some of the glycerin, which is a natural humectant (draws moisture to the skin). Therefore, these soaps are softer than most.

MRTC relies on the help of other families to produce small batches of hand stirred and cut soaps. This allows production of a very beautiful, carefully made soap, and it allows the families to earn a healthy income in a healthy environment in their own homes. You can imagine how wonderful their homes must smell!

Who says that just because you've been in camp for a week you have to smell like a buffalo?
