Coffee Filter Litmus Paper

A friend of mine teaches Middle School Science and this was her recipe for cheap litmus paper.  So if you ever need to test the Ph of anything - here's the way.  You'll have to find your own color chart for the acid/base thing.  Perhaps if you come across one on line, you could drop me a line and I'll link it. medriver@3rivers.net

• Get 6-7 large red cabbage leaves
• Cover with water
• Boil until water turns REALLY red
• Add bleached coffee filters to soak for a few minutes
• Remove and dry (hang or whatever)
• Double dip after dry if desired - redry
• Cut into 1 inch strips  and store in box
